We all know Italian cuisine is the best in the world! So it is nice to see that the elite chefs are back awarding the coveted Best Chef of the Year prize to an Italian once more. We are overjoyed, and our editor shares her own experience of eating at one of the world's best restaurant - Osteria Francescana in Modena with chef Bottura.

The Best Chef award comes at a very special year for Italy, which is in the midst of celebrating her 150th year as a Republic.
